My name is Elijah.

My dad is a missionary working with university students in Belgium (and you'll see his picture and profile on this blog, cause that seems to be what it takes to make blogger.com happy). Life is pretty interesting here so I will write about it. When I was little I decided I wanted to be a superhero with all the powers so I became Everything Boy. In Dutch that is Alles Jongen.

camp

About two weeks after school ended we went to a camp my dad was working at. It was for Ichtus students and it's called Formacion. We had a great time at camp. I met a lot of students. And there was stuff I've never seen before, like a raspberry bush by a walking trail, a chicken coop with a goat in it. We went to Arlon, the town near the camp, and you probably never see this in America, but there was a whole street where they didn't let cars come in. It was like a flea market. We had ice cream. I don't know if they have Speculoos in America yet, but here they have Speculoos cookies, spread, and ice cream. Natalie had Speculoos ice cream. I had "After Eight" (mint chocolate chip). We also went to an adventure course. It was quite difficult because there were these ropes that hung down and you had to cross them. There was a bridge with spaces in it you had to walk across. There was a climbing wall, but it was actually a real cliff. There was a harness on you and you had to keep your safety clips hooked on a cable. At the end I went down a humongous zip line. It was about as long as two football fields. Have you ever done something like that? If you have leave a comment, please. Bye.

  2. Elijah! Thanks for inviting me to your blog! I think this will be a really cool way for us to keep up with each other. It sounds like that adventure course was really fun! Mason is really thinkin' about you a lot lately. The other day I asked him, what he wanted to do for his birthday coming up and he said, "Well, I think I want to go to play with Elijah!" I told him that I didn't know if we were going to be able to do that and his response was, "Well, I guess we're gonna have to go to Belgium Mom!" I thought it was pretty cute. What other things are you up to these days?
I read Grandma's comment on your blog and did you know that I went down the same zip line that Grandma went down too?!? I only did it once so you must be pretty brave!
Well, it is 1am so I should probably go to bed. We love you and miss you guys!

  3. Hey there Elijah! I am also honored to be a part of your blog! Although I've never been on a zip-line, I have climbed some of the tallest peaks at Pallasaides Park, not far from Sioux Falls. My friend from high school brought a group of us out there when I was about 19... certainly not when I was 7 or 8!! Thanks again for inviting me to be a part of your site! We love you and miss you very much.
